trivago Academies – Wisen up your Wednesdays
The trivago Academy is a weekly event where thought-leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators are invited to speak at the trivago offices, providing inspiration with their stories and interactive presentations.
One of the core values that shapes the trivago culture is Fanatic Learning. The spirit of expanding knowledge and enhancing curiosity is at the heart of the trivago Academies. The weekly events are not only exclusive to trivago talents either, they are open to the general public, and in this last year the amount of external visitors has risen to record numbers. Many Düsseldorf natives make the after-work pilgrimage to the trivago offices, thirsty for knowledge (and beer…). The speakers themselves come from all over the world, and the topics of the talks vary greatly from week to week.
Some Academies have a huge focus on Tech innovation (Google developers recently came to give a talk on Machine Learning) and some are based more on self-development and leadership (the video below is a reaction to Ayse Birsel’s ‘Design The Life You Love’ Academy).
trivago has hosted talks by famous athletes, world-record holders, TV stars and mind-readers, all with unique wisdom to impart. No matter what topic is being presented, the focus is on the mission “to bring stories and insights that enable us to acquire a different perspective on the world”. The Academies are also a really great networking event, to meet those with similar interests from the local area, or to get to know trivago itself a bit better.
The man responsible for bringing such a wide variety of guests to the Academy is Vladislav Indikov. Vlad says:
“We want the Academies to act as a bridge between internal and external communities, bring them together to get more out of life, and their fill lives with food for thought.”
Entry and refreshments are also free of charge. Are you interested? Take a look at the upcoming events either on the Life at trivago Facebook Page, or register through Eventbrite.
What better way to get through the midweek hump? 😉
