trivago partners with Ironhack to offer tech scholarships valued at 250k!
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID pandemic, the German IT market is growing steadily. New vacancies open daily and there is shortage of qualified tech talent, particularly diverse tech talent, to fill those gaps. We believe democratising tech education and enabling more people to enter into tech careers are key to helping solve this problem.
Today we’re happy to announce that we’re partnering with tech school Ironhack who is offering study scholarships in Web Development, UX/UI Design, Data Analytics and Cybersecurity valued at a total of 250k EUR!
What is Ironhack?
Ironhack is a coding bootcamp headquartered in Madrid with campuses throughout Europe and Latin America that offers educational programs that provide students with the technical training and industry introductions they need to be employable after graduation. Through this partnership, we’re hoping to help bridge this gap and help people from all walks of life and backgrounds to transition into tech careers.
Every student at Ironhack gets access to the most in-demand digital skills through live and hands-on training in Web Development, UX/UI Design, Data Analytics or Cybersecurity. Their scholarships are aimed at people interested in building a career in tech, including those who already have basic knowledge and want to acquire new skills. They offer immersion bootcamps that can be done either in-person in Berlin or remotely, on a part-time or full-time basis.
Since 2017, Ironhack has partnered with top-tier tech companies to award scholarships to those in need or underrepresented groups. More than 11 000 of its graduates now have careers at Fortune 500 companies like Google, Facebook, Twitter, Uber, and more.
The Ironhack Experience
French Ironhacker Gabriel living in Germany worked in the music industry for 10 years, but he has always been passionate about technology. Due to the pandemic, his work in the music sector was in danger, so he decided to make a radical change. A friend of his studied at Ironhack and recommended it to him. Looking at the programs, he decided to join Cybersecurity.
At first, “I was a bit scared, I didn’t know exactly what to expect.” Before the starting of the classes, there is a mandatory pre-work of 20 hours to complete which, according to Gabriel, “really makes you ready for the program. I felt comfortable with the classmates and instructors soon, because they are there to support you, which creates a really interactive and dynamic community.” Regarding the lack of previous experience, he says that “it’s not a barrier. I am interested and passionate. Even though the class finishes at 6 pm, I can’t stop, I am always checking new tools, it’s a never-ending topic.”
Since then Gabriel has landed a role as Cybersecurity Analyst directly after finishing the Bootcamp and works Part-Time as a Teaching Assistant for Ironhack!
