Life at trivago #talkfups competition

At trivago we don’t just encourage f’ups, we celebrate them! That’s why we want to reward you for sharing your biggest f’up.

We want to hear your most embarrassing, awkward or just plain funny workplace f’up stories. Confess to ‘life at trivago’ on twitter by using the hashtag #talkfups and you could win flights and two nights accommodation in Palma, Majorca for you and a friend.

You can use text, images or video to confess your workplace f’up just make sure you include the hashtag #talkfups to be in the draw.

Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions are applicable for the #talkfups contest (“Contest”), organized by trivago GmbH, Bennigsen-Platz 1, Düsseldorf Germany (“Sponsor”).

This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Twitter. Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the promotion should be directed to trivago, not Facebook or Twitter.

By entering this contest, you represent that you have read these terms and conditions and that you agree to be bound by all of them.

1. Eligibility:

The Contest is open only to legal residents of the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium and France who are at least eighteen (18) years old. Employees of trivago GmbH, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members of those employees are not eligible to enter.

2. Entry Period:

The Entry Period begins at 0800 CET on 4th July 2017 and ends at 1700 CET on 31 July 2017. Sponsor’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Contest.

3. How to enter:

a. To enter the Contest, use the hashtag #talkfups on twitter to let us know about a time you have messed-up at work. You can use video, text or photo to tell your story of failure, just make sure you include the hashtag so we can find your entry. By entering through twitter you give us permission to share your entry through our ‘life at trivago’ social media channels.

b. Participation in the Contest is only possible through the use of a valid twitter account.

c. By entering, you represent and warrant that you agree to these Terms and Conditions and Sponsor’s decisions regarding the Contest, which are final and binding.

d. No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win.

4. Terms of violation and exclusion:

a. trivago is entitled to exclude participants from this contest in instances of general violations of these terms and conditions.

b. Any attempt to influence the results of the contest through software, scripts or any other comparable types of manipulation, which in turn creates an unfair advantage in comparison with other participants, is strictly prohibited. trivago retains the right to exclude participants from the contest if any of these modes of manipulation is suspected.

5. Winner selection process:

a. All eligible entries received during the Entry Period will be gathered into a database at the end of the Entry Period. The winner will be chosen based on creativity by a panel of judges appointed by Sponsor. The winner will be notified by message and announced on the ‘life at trivago’ Twitter & Facebook within 28 days of the closing date.

b. Each entrant is responsible for monitoring his/her account for prize notification and receipt or other communications related to this Contest. If a potential prize winner cannot be reached by Sponsor within 14 days of the prize notification using the contact information provided at the time of entry, or if the prize is returned as undeliverable, that potential prize winner shall forfeit the prize and Sponsor will pick a replacement winner.

6. The Prize will be awarded to one winner and is non-transferable. There are no cash substitutions. The prize consists of:

(a) Two return adult economy class flights from the nearest major airport to Palma, Mallorca

and two nights accommodation for two adults in a hotel of your choice in Palma, Mallorca up to a maximum combined value of €1000

(d) The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prize is not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.

The winner is responsible for paying any costs and expenses not listed above. The winner must have a valid passport and be able to travel on the dates specified by Sponsor. Any prize details not specified above will be determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion.

7. Privacy Policy: Sponsor takes the issue of data protection very seriously. Our Privacy Policy applies. Sponsor will collect personal data of every participant, specifically; first name, last name and email address solely for the purpose of executing this Contest. By entering this Contest participants agree that Sponsor will collect, process, utilize and save personal data, specifically; first name, last name and email address, in line with the participation requirement of the contest and during the distribution of prizes. On request and free of charge Sponsor will provide every participant with information about all personal data that has been saved. On request by the participant Sponsor will immediately and free of charge destroy all personal data about him. For that purpose the participant can send a formless message by email to stefan.durski@trivago.com

8. General Conditions:

a. Sponsor retains the right to stop or end the Contest at any time without prior notification. Reasons for ending the Contest could include, but are not limited to, unforeseen technical malfunctions, (e.g. virus attacking the computer system, manipulation or errors in hard- and or software), or any instance in which trivago is not able to correctly/accurately conduct the Contest.

b. In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Contest is impaired in any way, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either: (a) suspend the Contest to address the impairment and then resume the Contest; or (b) award the prize according to the criteria set forth above from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment.

c. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify and seek damages from any individual who tampers with the operation of the Contest, violates these Terms and Conditions, or acts in a disruptive or unsportsmanlike manner.

d. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Terms and Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.

e. Proof of sending any communication to Sponsor by mail shall not be deemed proof of receipt of that communication by Sponsor.

f. The Contest is void where prohibited.

g. Sponsor reserves the right to publish winners’ first and last names and their submitted content on the trivago Facebook, twitter, Instagram & LinkedIn accounts.

h. Participants can withdraw from the Contest at any time without stating reasons. Withdrawal can be declared via email to stefan.durski@trivago.com.

9. Release and Limitations of Liability:

a. Sponsor is released from all obligations with the delivery of the prize at the latest, if such release is not already obtained at an earlier date according to these Terms and Conditions.

b. In case Sponsor or Sponsor’s agents did not act gross negligently or willfully, Sponsor cannot be held liable for any damages arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention in the Contest; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone, or network lines; © any errors on the platforms that impact may entry or voting; (d) printing errors; (e) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail; (f) errors in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries. Claims concerning loss of life, physical injury and damage to health or culpable violation of substantial contractual obligations remain unaffected.

10. Miscellaneous: If any provision in this Agreement is or becomes ineffective, the effectiveness of the other provisions will not be prejudiced thereby. In such a case, the parties will replace the invalid provision by an effective provision approaching as closely as possible the purpose of the invalid provision.
